Other Greek anarchist trial updates

On March 26, sentences were handed down for the five comrades charged with setting fire to Public Power Corporation (DEI) vehicles in Thessaloniki. The trial itself lasted only two sessions, since four of the defendants refused to appear out of their sheer disdain for the judicial theater. The sentences are as follows:

Yiannis Skouloudis: 5 years and 5 months in prison
Dimitris Dimitsiadis: 2 years and 10 months in prison (suspended sentence, meaning that he will be released if he has no other trials pending)
Babis Stylianidis: 2 years and 10 months in prison (suspended sentence, meaning that he will be released if he has no other trials pending)
Dimitris Fessas: 2 years and 5 months in prison (suspended sentence, meaning that he will be released if he has no other trials pending)
Sokratis Tzifkas: 2 years and 5 months in prison (suspended sentence, meaning that he will be released if he has no other trials pending)

Fessas received a reduced sentence for being the only defendant to actually show up at trial, while Tzifkas’ reduced sentence stemmed from him being a minor at the time of the arsons. Nevertheless, Tzifkas recently turned 21 and has therefore been transferred from Avlona Juvenile Prison to Diavata Prison. His new contact information is:

Sokratis Tzifkas
Filakes Diavaton, B Pteryga
TK57008 Diavata
Thessaloniki
Greece

We will update the contact information for the rest of the comrades as soon as possible.

In other news, Rami Syrianos’ trial has been postponed until May 21, while Simos Seisidis’ trial for weapons theft (which incident occurred while he was at large) is scheduled to begin on May 28
