This morning at 4:00 a.m., Special Operations Group (ROS) units raided approximately 40 houses in the context of a repressive operation against the anarchist movement. The operation, called Ardire (which, in true Orwellian style, means “daring” or “boldness” in Italian), was ordered by Perugia public prosecutor Manuela Comodi and has thus far yielded eight arrests in Italy, single indictments in Germany and Switzerland, and 24 people under investigation.
The arrested comrades in Italy are:
Stefano Gabriele Fosco
Elisa Di Bernardo
Alessandro Settepani
Sergio Maria Stefani
Katia Di Stefano
Giuseppe Lo Turco
Paola Francesca Iozzi
Giulia Marziale
The indictments (meant to be accompanied by augmented precautionary measures) in Germany and Switzerland concern two anarchists who have already been locked up by the state for many years now: Gabriel Pombo da Silva and Marco Camenisch. Meanwhile, among the names of those under investigation are many prisoner comrades from the Fire Cells Conspiracy in Greece.
As soon as possible, we will publish the addresses of the prisons in which the arrested Italian comrades are being held, and we invite anyone who has that information to share it with us.
Houses were searched for documents and explosive materials. Among the raided houses was one in which an Informa-Azione editor lives, and computers needed to update that website were seized. Other raided houses include one where the Culmine comrades live (they are now under arrest) and one where the ParoleArmate comrades live (one of them is under arrest, while the other is under investigation).
We will keep this story updated as we receive more information.
